Flying Backwards follows the journey of a woman living a sheltered life in a small town. Stuck in a rut composed of a dead end relationship, a boring office job, and a family business she has little interest in, Eleanor Clark yearns for new experiences and adventures. Gathering all the courage she can muster she applies for a job as an international Flight Attendant. Jennifer W Smith's detailed description of the training Eleanor must go through is both intense and suspenseful. Throughout the book Ms. Smith takes Eleanor on an odyssey of self discovery as she fulfills her need to change her life. The colorful descriptions of the experiences Eleanor encounters as she explores european cities adds to the excitement of this truly captivating book. Things get really interesting (and spicy!) as Eleanor encounters romance and some tough choices. Flying Backwards is as thought-provoking as it is engaging as Eleanor struggles with the challenges of what it's like to figure out what one wants in life. Lovable characters, great read!

I read this romance in less than a week, and I loved it. The main character Eleanor is a strong and determined lady who makes one decision, which changes her life completely with surprising twists and turns. The descriptions of the places she visits as a flight attendant are excellent, the characters believable, and the three men male love interests make it an enjoyable read. I will be checking out further books by Jennifer Smith.

Flying Backwards is a wonderful story about a woman taking charge of her life, taking changes. The characters are easy to relate to and the predicaments Eleanor gets into are fun to follow. Great, easy to read, feel good book!
This story is a sweet romantic adventure with lovely details of foreign cities. I highly recommend it!

Why did I write this book? It's part of my mission to revolutionize eating and feeding. But like any worthwhile project I have ever done, I backed into it. I thought I had a clear direction but what I hadn't anticipated is that, like a spirited child, Secrets has been a most willful book! In response to reader request, I started out to write a short and simple primer about child feeding following my golden rule, the division of responsibility in feeding: The parent is responsible for the what, when and where of feeding, the child is responsible for the how much and whether of eating. The problem that soon became apparent is that the cornerstone of that division of responsibility is family meals, and today's families have extraordinary difficulty getting meals on the table. It's not for lack of commitment or trying. There are too many barriers: lack of time and food skills, guilt and anxiety about eating and, not the least, all the rules that have taken the fun out of eating. Thus, Secrets turned into a book about reclaiming the family meal for the enjoyable, connecting, soothing and energizing backbone of the family. We all absolutely depend on knowing we are going to be fed. To do well with eating, we have to have meals. We must make meals a priority or we will scare ourselves and our children, whether we know it or not. We'll grab at not-so-good food, and end up feeling hungry and unsatisfied, both emotionally and physically.

About the Author
I was born and raised on a farm in South Dakota and moved to Wisconsin to do an internship in dietetics after I graduated from SD State University in Brookings. I have remained here since, marrying and raising three now-grown children: a girl and two boys. My daughter is married and has three daughters. After earning a masters in nutrition at the University of Wisconsin in Madison I practiced as an outpatient dietitian at a large medical practice. I wrote my first book about child nutrition, Child of Mine; Feeding with Love and Good Sense on the cusp of my transition to becoming a mental health professional. It was intended as a farewell gift to my own sweet and wonderful experiences with raising my children and my clinical practice as a dietitian in pediatrics.

To my surprise, I have become an authority on child nutrition and feeding and have gone on to consult, teach, train, write magazine and journal articles and write books two and three: How to Get Your Kid to Eat...But Not Too Much and Secrets of Feeding a Healthy Family. I keep trying to find time to write about adults and their eating, something more about children seems to come up and claim my attention. Children have a way of doing that! In my 35 years of practice I have developed a uniquely freeing and effective approach to helping adults with their eating. That book may be called something like Secrets of Being a Healthy Eater, but the title smacks of tofu and virtue. My son-in-law suggested Celebrate the Cookie, which has a nice ring to it but implies a cookie cookbook. I have nothing against cookie cookbooks, but I don't plan to write one. The current title attempt is Eating Joyfully in a Food-Crazed World. Suggestions are welcome.

In these times of book-world upheaval, my solution to being an economically solventor perhaps survivingauthor has been to diversify. Along with my writing and training endeavors and after getting a second masters in clinical social work, for the last 20 years I have been in private practice as a psychotherapist specializing in eating disorders. Ten years ago I established Ellyn Satter Associates with the mission of providing resources about eating and feedingbooks, teaching materials, training materials and trainingfor the public and for professionals.

I really wanted to like this book

I wanted to like this book. Satter has been recommended by people who share my beliefs about child development and child rearing--ie. honoring autonomy, encouraging self regulation, authoritative not authoritarian parent-child relationship. However, the info on nutrition and food is so disappointingly poor and inaccurate. The menus, recipes, cooking info, nutrition advice come out of the 70s-- canned mushroom soup? bread and butter with every dinner? meal patterns based on fats, carbs and proteins? Margerine? Sugar is not harmful to the body? Instant Ramen? A hamburger, bun and fries are a decent meal?
I kept looking at the publish date to make sure this book wasn't written in 1977. It was actually in 2008.

A night to remember...

This is the first time I've read an Erotic short as well as this author. I was pleasantly surprised. I usually like full length novels but I found myself enjoying this story too much to give it up and read it all in one go. What got me to buy it is that beautiful cover and the blurb intrigued me. I just had to buy it and I wanted to read it immediately. What I love the most about this story is the creativity behind it. James Blackwood and his Celeste meet under very peculiar circumstances and from there you go on a very steamy journey where you can also read humor in his thoughts and sweetness in their interactions. I loved the ending and can't wait to see "behind-the-keyhole" of the next story of The Wedding Night Diaries.

I haven't read very many short erotic stories but this one was captivating from the very beginning and I found myself immersed in the story quickly. It starts with some suspense and drama, intrigue, a secret organization practicing some sorcery.

James Blackwood is one hot, sexy savior to Celeste DuBois, who he discovers laid out upon a sacrificial alter. What follows is the story of his rescue of her, his brief courtship and their ultimate marriage. The best part? Their wedding night! Hot...hot...hot...is all I'll say!

Ms. Wilmont does a spectacular job of setting the mood and tone of their first "encounter", describing the setting, pulling the reader into James and Celeste's thoughts and feelings. I felt like a fly on the wall, or a voyeur, I should say, watching them consummate their union. Very passionate, very steamy, very hot!!

Even though this is short story, it was extremely enjoyable to read and I was sad that it ended! I can't wait to read more of Ms. Wilmont's short stories!

WOW now this is one story everyone has to read!!!! This is short but oh so HOT steamy historical novella about two people James Blackwood and Celeste DuBois and how they meet under somewhat difficult and scary circumstances. The oh so HOT and STEAMY James "finds" his Celeste, a friendship is developed and within a few weeks they are married. Then comes the best part....the clever and intriguing writing of Ms. Wilmont of their wedding night and all the details leading up to this....boy you certainly don't want to miss this!!!! :) This was a quick read but this was HOT, this was steamy, this was "adventurous", this was intriguing, this was beautiful, this was sensual, this was well written and simply this was AMAZING!!!! If you want a quick, beautiful, hot read this is the five star story for you. I can't wait to read more of these Wedding Night Diaries and I certainly can't wait to read more from Ms. Wilmont....certainly a story well done in every aspect!!!!

This little bundle of goodness just arrived on my front door and I am smitten! The architecture and design is absolutely beautiful, and the photography is stunning. The spaces reflect a variety of design styles, yet there is a cohesiveness that makes each of the come together in a very unified way. There is a nice mix of colorful and neutral spaces, and each space flows gracefully into the next. Great inspiration for anyone interested in home decoration, or for anyone interested in art and travel. I also really appreciated that it was not obvious at-first-glance where the interior was located. A validation that good design is very universal! I do not own Volume 1 of this book, but I will be addicting it to my list. Another beautiful book by Taschen.
